How to buy a house
the process
It is very easy to
buy a house if you follow these simple step-by-step guidelines. By knowing what each of
the steps to buying a house is, you will find it an extremely enjoyable and interesting
event, just as it should be.
Decide whether you are really ready to buy a house.
Decide what your housing needs are.
Decide in what location you would like
to live.
Select a realtor to
help you in your search.
Make sure you can
finance the purchase
and get a prequalification letter.
Find the perfect home
and make an offer to purchase. You will need to
provide a good faith deposit at the time of the offer.
Wait for your realtor to call
you to tell you the offer has been accepted.
Escrow will open.
Apply for your loan. This
should not be difficult as you already have the
prequalification letter from your lender. This step should
simply be a
formality.
Attend general inspection of
property with inspector. Learn what needs to be
repaired and negotiate with seller about cost of repairs
with your realtor.
If all goes well, toward the
end of escrow you will pay to the escrow company
the balance of your downpayment.
The escrow company gets the
balance of the purchase price from the lender,
completes all the calculations, records the transaction and
closes escrow.
Congratulations! You now own
the home!
Your realtor will arrange
for collection of the keys and handover to you on the
date that the purchase transaction is recorded.
Move in to your new home.
See how simple it really is? If you use
a realtor as your buying agent, he will do everything necessary to keep the process smooth
and trouble free for you.
Owning your own home is not difficult
just follow the simple steps outlined above and you can do it.
